The Security Systems Installation Technician Course at Rise Training School is designed train students in the wiring and installation of Intrusion, Access Control and Video Security Systems. During this course, students will be trained in how to professionally set up, maintain and perform basic repairs on low voltage electrical security systems and fire alarms for residential homes and/or commercial properties and ensure that all work is completed in accordance with all relevant codes.
Specific tasks will include: Drilling holes in walls to set up wiring systems Using low voltage power sources and establishing wiring connected to these; Discussing a client's security needs; Designing he appropriate system to suit the Client's needs; Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing basic issues with security hardware; Evaluating site or building plans; Testing security systems to ensure they function efficiently; Adhering to local and federal electrical safety regulations; Replacing inefficient wires, devices or batteries; Mounting video surveillance equipment; Installing Motion Detectors and other Intrusion Prevention Devices, Installing a range of electrical components, such as switches, control centers, smoke detectors or lighted exit signs and Working with both older and newer security systems
This course consists of 4 Levels. Each student will be required to take a Certification Test for each Course Level (I thru IV). Certificates of Professional Training are given to each student upon satisfactory passing of each Course Level Test. At the completion of the Course students will be required to complete a Business Etiquette Course which will prepare them for State Issued Security Clearance and Employment.
